I found out that my beloved Zed's Restaurant closed it doors on Sunday, the 18th. There had been a sign on the door in Mid-November stating that they were only doing private events and catering jobs, so there was no regular dining service.
Sadly, the truth was, the owners decided to shut it down after their final corporate events this past weekend. The staff here are close, personal friends. The restaurant grounds are beautiful with it's outdoor patios, sprawling green river banks and stone steps leading to the outdoor stage. Out front is a calming water feature and wrap around koi pond.
Here I celebrated brithdays, and my daughter's gradutation. I hosted many, many events from happy hours to shoesisters events and co-hosted vodkaFest the past two years. It was a place to meet for business meetings, catch up lunches and a quick stop in for my favorite cocktail - Jake's fabulous Effen-tini.
This cocktail has been one of my favorites from the beginning and won a Best Martini award, which was proudly displayed in the bar. It always made me feel comforted and I knew if I was having a bad day, had worked long hours and just needed a little something special, the Effen-tini was there to cheer me up.
So I raise my final chipolte salt rimmed glass and toast to good times, great staff and wonderful memories made over these past three years.
